POSITION POSTING

 

The Moses Lake School District is seeking applications for Elementary Counselors at Sage Point and Longview Elementary Schools for Summer School. Submit online application with all required documentation.

Salary: $40.00 per hour

Summer Program Dates: June 26th through July 20th, 2024 (No School July 3rd & 4th)

Number of Days:  17

Included in Number of Days:

*Welcome Night: June 20th

*Training and Preparation Days: June 20th & June 21st 

*14 School days with students

*1 program wrap up day July 19th

Paid from a timesheet in 2 paychecks on July 31st and August 31st

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Washington State ESA (Educational Staff Associate) certification as a counselor or social worker.
  2. Valid Washington State driver's license or evidence of mobility.
  3. Able to work a flexible schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Participate in providing intervention support services in a team approach for students, staff and parents.

  1. Bilingual preferred.
  2. Assist at-risk students to attend summer school and maintain and improve academic skills, participation skills, and coping skills to fully engage in school settings. 
  3. Support skill development with individual and groups of students as needed concerning coping, social norms, physical and emotional survival, mediation, multi-cultural awareness, problem solving, and anti-bullying.
  4. Provide crisis intervention and management support to students, staff and parents.
  5. Consult and collaborate with parents, school staff and outside agency personnel regarding mental health, behavioral, social/emotional and educational concerns, their implications and means of intervening. Make home visits as needed.
  6. Evaluate and record student progress with intervention plans.
  7. Maintain data and process reports in a timely manner.
  8. Use computers and related technologies.
  9. Must have excellent attendance.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
