Technical Lead / Founding Engineer 

As Technical Lead / Founding Engineer you will be working on an institutional grade trading system to power a new-age marketplace for trading on sports and political events. Currently operating in stealth mode, this startup plans to launch a stock exchange style marketplace to users and revolutionize the way sports and political fans interact with each other online. As a senior hire, the Technical Lead will be tasked with evaluating existing exchange infrastructure, identifying optimizations, and leading development on improved proprietary assets such as risk management systems, exchange matching engines, market data and order routing adapters.

Responsibilities

• Serve as top technical contributor to all exchange platform development projects.
• Design, develop, and maintain critical trading infrastructure systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain low latency, distributed message protocols.
• Design, develop and maintain trade matching and market data algorithms.
• Create and maintain automated tests.
• Manage a team of engineers and review code for correctness and security concerns.
• Build high performance data feeds and APIs for institutional and professional users.
• Platform support, including system upgrades, migration, data architecture, open-source support.
• Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Maintain the security of the exchange platform and its applications.

Qualifications

• BS Degree or higher in computer science / engineering
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in a low latency environment with 2+ years as a lead developer or managing a team.
• Ability to design, develop, and debug software solutions using multiple languages (especially C++, Java, C#, Go, Ruby/Rails and Python).
• Experience with REST API design.
• Experience with Message Brokers / Cloud Infrastructure / DevOps / Containerization a plus.
• FIX Protocol experience a plus.
• Financial / capital markets experience a plus
• Cloud security experience a plus
