This recruitment is for one full-time, permanent Program Coordinator position. This position serves as the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator for the Inland NW Area with normal working hours of Wednesday- Sunday 8:00am- 4:30pm. The position will cover several (6) parks within the area and is a combination of approximately 60% field work and 40% office /admin work.

The Volunteer & Outreach Program Coordinator (Program Coordinator)position recruits, organizes and schedules volunteers, and supervises and participates in some facets of the volunteer work, implementing area priorities based on the mission and vision of the Area Manager and the Agency.  

In this role, you will coordinate and attend outreach events, organize park-sponsored trail days and coordinates with partners, as well as accurately tracking volunteer hours and visitor interactions at outreach events. The Program Coordinator promotes, organizes, and supports meaningful public engagement and participation by helping to provide ways for people to connect with nature and expand their appreciation for our natural and cultural resources.

The Inland Northwest Volunteer & Outreach Program Coordinator position for the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is an integral part of our Community Engagement Team. In addition to leading the planning and execution of public volunteer projects within our six park properties, you will have the opportunity to participate in a number of Outreach events in the greater Spokane community. While maintaining existing relationships with groups and organizations you will also have the opportunity to establish new relationships to expand the footprint of the Volunteer & Outreach Program. From the top of Mount Spokane to the natural beauty of the Little Spokane River Natural Area to the stunning backdrop of the Bowl and Pitcher you will regularly be working outdoors in some of Eastern Washington's most iconic locations.
