We are currently seeking diligent and detail-oriented Nuclear Background Investigators to join our team in our Spokane Valley office.

About the role: The Nuclear Background Investigation Department within our company provides accurate and timely background investigations to our Nuclear Energy clients. Our investigators conduct in-depth background reports on individuals seeking clearance at secure energy-based facilities across the country.

We combine classroom instruction with on-the-job training to provide you with the tools and skills to be successful. At our peak times, you will work in a fast-paced environment that will challenge you. A successful candidate has the opportunity for advancement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter nuclear applications and faxes into our database
  • Conduct phone interviews with employers, schools, military personnel, and personal references
  • Document calls with meticulous accuracy
  • Summarize and compile information logically
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies and evaluate data
  • Perform self-reviews to ensure quality of work
  • Assess completed reports for accuracy and compliance, documenting any errors
  • Accurately proofread, edit, and revise documents

Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred experience in areas such as: Data Entry, Customer Service, and Administration
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Extreme attention to detail and multitasking ability
  • Competent computer skills including but not limited to: web navigation, basic computer file management, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a capacity to meet deadlines, through critical thinking
  • Proficient verbal and written communication
  • Prompt adaptability to new procedures, policies, and processes. This may include but is not limited to; governmental/industry regulations, client-specific requirements, and adhering to documentation requirements
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress, time-critical environment
  • Willingness to receive and implement constructive feedback
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a huge plus
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States

Working Schedule:
  • This is an in-office position, with the opportunity for remote work after an initial 3-6 month on-site period. Transitions to remote work will be considered based on demonstrated communication skills and job performance during this period.
  • Typical schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Full-Time during peak seasons, Part-Time during off-seasons
  • Overtime and weekends available during peak seasons, based on productivity and company needs
  • Shift start times vary between 5:00 AM – 8:00 AM, and will vary depending on staffing needs during peak/off seasons
  • Peak Seasons: Approximately, January – April, August – October

Starting Pay
  • $17.00/hour (up to $20/hour DOE)
  • If inquiries are made regarding the potential impact of your prior experience on the advancement of your title or compensation after your 90-day probationary period, assessments will be conducted to evaluate your performance, the application of your previous experience, and your qualifications within this role with respect to expedited progression

Available starting on the 1 of the month after your first 60 days:

Pinnacle’s “Pathway to the Peak” offers a clear trajectory for career progression in the Nuclear Investigations Department. Advancements in titles and compensation are based on tenure and performance, and this determination is made through annual performance reviews.
  • Nuclear Background Investigator I (new employees): $17 - $17.50/hour
  • Nuclear Background Investigator II: $18 - $18.50/hour
  • Nuclear Background Investigator III: $18.50 - $19/hour
  • Nuclear Background Investigator IV: $19 - $19.50/hour
  • Nuclear Background Investigator V: $19.50 - $20/hour
