This temporary, part-time intern position is located in the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department at the City of Lynnwood. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a Library Science, Historic Preservation Certificate Program, Geographic Information Science, or related program.   

This position will represent the City and work in collaboration with staff to organize, preserve and archive historic documents and artifacts to help preserve Lynnwood’s history. Working hours are varied and this individual will work under the supervision of the Arts, Cultural & Heritage Coordinator and Healthy Communities Manager.

Individuals assigned to this position will primarily be responsible for overseeing the archiving and preservation of key historic artifacts including documents and other related items. In addition, this position may include a digital product (website content), assisting in the establish a public archive (digital), and developing content and storytelling around Lynnwood’s indigenous history. The work will ensure that these historic treasures are preserved in authentic form and protect the historical significance of items. Individuals will also perform administrative functions such as data collection, data entry, website updates, communication and other work that supports the City’s History and Heritage Program.
