The Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for assisting the Quality Improvement Manager in ensuring that quality services are being provided to children and families by assessing and monitoring classroom services, and supporting staff in ongoing quality improvement. This position will work in classroom settings to support the development of systemic structure, practice, and agency interpretation of Head Start and ECEAP standards and Washington Administrative Code. Scheduled for 40 hrs. per week during the school year with an hourly wage of $25.00. A typical schedule is Mon-Fri day time hours.

Required Education

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field.

Required Experience

A minimum of two years' experience working with children ages birth to 5.

Knowledge of

  • HS/EHS/ECEAP/WAC standards, requirements, and regulations.
  • CLASS/SmartTeach//Early Achievers/USDA
  • ChildPlus/Merit/ELMS/Coaching Companion
  • Principles of Early Childhood Development
  • Practice Based Coaching strategies
  • Adult Learning Principles
  • Technological literacy

Essential Functions

  • Support the assigned Agency Coach for staff needing support in classroom management and environment set-up activities.
  • Support the agency in compliance activities associated with Early Achiever's timelines and rating activities.
  • Conduct CLASS observations annually as assigned.
  • Deliver feedback to each team and supervisor regarding observations.
  • Support teaching teams to create and monitor progress towards Classroom Action Plans and SMARTIE goals.
  • Support completion of site observation/checklist annually for each site and provide feedback to supervisory staff.
  • Ensure classrooms/sites comply with HS/EHS/ECEAP/WAC requirements.
  • Analyze child and classroom data on an on-going basis to support continuous quality improvement within provided services.
  • Collaborate with other internal components as needed to support positive classroom climates and child outcomes.
  • Support EOCF subcontractors in education services related to CLASS and SmartTeach as assigned to ensure performance standards and measurable outcomes are met related to contract deliverables.
