Compass Health is hiring a Contracting Specialist in Everett, WA!

SUMMARY

The Contracting Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the centralized grants/contracts library, which includes revenue and vendor contracts, leases, loans, and insurance policies, validating detailed contracting information, and ability to effectively communicate contracting timelines and details to both internal and external parties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Initiates contract process with outside parties and vendors as requested by management, and coordinates process with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitors contract changes and expirations and communicates these to accounting and clinical management.
  • Drafts revenue and vendor service contracts, memoranda of understanding, or letters of intent as requested by management.
  • Compiles exhibits, attachments, and/or any other documents necessary for each contract.
  • Reviews contracts for completion and accuracy and sends out contract language discrepancies to management as part of review process.
  • Routes and monitors entire contract review process and ensures the contract execution process is complete.
  • Notifies appropriate directors, managers, and all finance and accounting staff of executed contracts. Explains billing procedures as needed.
  • Manages electronic Contract Library and related documents including contract summary sheets, renewal timelines, attachments to contracts, and revenue summary sheets.
  • Assist with process improvement and organization for Contract Library and related SharePoint internal system.
  • In conjunction with the Compliance Committee and Quality Management, determines additional business associates based on federal privacy and security regulations. Mails and tracks business associate agreements and updates matrix in Contract Library.
  • Assist with Internship Contract and Renewal Library.
  • Tracks deliverables per contract and notifies management of timelines.
  • Assist with facility credentialing, annual insurance renewals, State and Federal business filings, and business license documentation requirements, as needed.
  • Requests liability insurance certificates and endorsements as needed for contracts and other financial documents.
  • Contributes to process and performance improvements in regard to provider enrollment and revenue cycle management.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled supervision and team meetings.
  • Remains compliant with required trainings and certifications.
  • Behaves in an ethical and professional manner consistent with agency policy, state law, and licensing entities if applicable.
  • Understands and practices safekeeping of client protected health information per Compass Health’s HIPAA and other agency policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates respect for diversity and a commitment to developing multicultural competency and sensitivity.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES

  • BA Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Paralegal Certification required.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience working in a behavioral health care environment preferred.
  • Experience with contracts records administration and working with contracts of various reimbursement methodologies.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and accreditation standards including NCQA, HIPAA, and CMS.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and billing.
  • Familiarity with contracting language and fee negotiations.
  • Proven project management, analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Knowledge of statistics, data collections, data analysis, and data presentation.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to also work cooperatively with others as a productive team member.
  • Excellent customer service and/or public relations skills, with the ability to relate effectively and sensitively to a wide range of consumers and professionals.
  • Ability to work calmly, effectively, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced, high production, and high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • General computer proficiency, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check, which may or may not include an additional search by DSHS.
