The Director of Student Recruitment leads the College’s student recruitment initiatives, financial aid outreach, and reentry to support the overall mission of the college and align with strategic priorities. This position creates visibility in the community, connection and alignment with K-12 education, and represents the programs and initiatives of the college at various outward facing events. The Director is responsible for developing and executing a robust student recruitment plan annually while working closely with administration and academic programs across divisions to meet the enrollment goals programmatically and institutionally. The Director will serve as a co-lead for the Marketing & Recruitment subgroup of the Strategic Enrollment Management team for the College. Additionally, the Director oversees the campus visit programming and student ambassador roles for near peer recruitment and educational awareness in the community.
The Director reports to the Assistant Vice President for Marketing & Outreach.

Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all areas Student Recruitment, Financial Aid Outreach and Reentry Navigator programs including goal setting, staffing and training, budgetary oversight and outcomes;
- Develop relationships and serve as liaison with targeted schools and agencies in the ESD 123 service area to promote post-secondary education ties to Columbia Basin College programs and industry workforce demands;
- Review, implement and continue to be the subject matter expert on a customer relationship management (CRM) system to manage the recruitment messaging and admission funnel communications related to enrollment goals;
- Plan, implement and coordinate CBC’s student recruitment program to reflect enrollment goals of the College and ensure the team of three recruiters have expert knowledge on programs and pathways to accurately represent the college;
- Oversee the recruiting, selection, training, and evaluation of the fifteen students on the Student Ambassador Team to serve as near peer advocates for the College as part of the Student Recruitment initiatives;
- Develop and implement a Financial Aid Outreach program that serves the ESD 123 region schools with increasing the application volume of financial aid application submissions for high school seniors by hiring, training, and creating materials related to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Washington State Financial Aid (WASFA) under pilot program through HB 1835 to serve the K-12 schools and community;
- Facilitate and oversee College involvement in community events such fairs, summer camps, expos, tours, counselor workshops, campus tours during the hiring process for faculty and staff and other areas as deemed appropriate;
- Plan develop, and maintain departmental budgets for the expenses related to Student Recruitment, Financial Aid Outreach and Reentry Navigator program areas used for staffing and meeting institutional enrollment goals; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, student services, or related fields from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Three years of experience working with secondary education, career exploration, community development, and/or at a college/university;
- Familiarity with the Washington K-12 school system, the Community College Mission, and with CBC programs, policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, student services, or related fields from an institutionally accredited college or university.
