Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Planning Specialist to fill an Alternative Fuel Specialist vacancy located in Olympia, WA. This position is within the Innovative Partnership Division and will work directly to support WSDOT’s strategic plan goal of reducing transportation sector greenhouse gas emissions. The Alternative Fuel Specialist will serve as the lead for planning, analysis, and reporting efforts on alternative fuel and vehicles. The person in this position will lead zero emission vehicle (ZEV) and ZEV infrastructure analysis, data collection, and reporting for state and federal compliance and policy review. The Alternative Fuel Specialist will also provide statewide technical expertise to agency and state government zero emission vehicle infrastructure implementation and funding programs and increase agency staffing capacity to address alternative fuel infrastructure program implementation, regulatory reporting, and engagement requirements to support state efforts toward meeting state statutory zero-emission vehicle sales requirements. Our top candidate must have exceptional communication skills as this position interacts with key internal and external partners involved in zero emission vehicle adoption and charging and refueling infrastructure development.
