The Opportunity:
As the Engagement Coordinator you will work closely with volunteers in select chapters/clubs/affinity groups to engage alumni in meaningful ways that inspire and promote support of WSU. You will be responsible for reporting, volunteer training and support of regional activities, collaboration with campus advancement colleagues, volunteer cultivation and retention efforts as designated by their supervisor. Key to University Advancement, you will ensure that volunteer events are tracked appropriately for data in the Advancement Customer Relationship Management system (e.g., attendee information, new contacts, etc.). You will also identify potential alumni/volunteers for connection with Advancement colleagues (either college or central).
In this position you will often attend volunteer meetings, and will coordinate and work at strategic centrally planned events where needed. You will also plan, organize, implement, and evaluate annual and special events that increase knowledge, awareness, interest, engagement, involvement, and commitment from WSU's alumni constituent groups.
In addition you will coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, marketing, and forecasting focused on but not limited to events such as alumni panels, volunteer trainings and conferences, professional development activities, lecture series, pub crawls, community service projects, and athletics viewing parties.
This position may be eligible for hybrid or remote work.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft office applications and social media applications (including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
• Excellent communication (verbal and written).
• Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license.
• Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, public relations, or closely related field.
• Experience working in team-oriented, fast paced, collaborative environment.
• Experience with highly visible events, large scale events, and/or multi-day events. Experience with contract negotiations and conflict resolutions.
• Experience with risk management.
• Experience which demonstrates strong project management and time management skills.

Monthly Salary: $3,750.85 - $5,397.56 | In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
