The Opportunity:
We are looking to fill a Human Resource Consultant 1 in a temporary role, and the appointment is anticipated to last up to 6 months. If your passionate about helping others, this a wonderful opportunity for you!
The Human Resource (HR) Division is responsible for ensuring that Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) is compliant with all state and federal labor laws and regulations, collective bargaining agreements. policies, and best practices.
As a Human Resource Consultant, you will provide first-level human resource guidance, serve as a back up to the HR Processor, and support the Talent and Training Team (TAT). This position keys personnel and position actions into HRMS, monitors program emails, updates organizational charts, and processes recruitment requests while adhering to Collective Bargaining Agrreements (CBA), the Washington Administrative Code (WAC), and agency policy and procedures.Duties
Some of what you'll do:
- Review personnel/payroll advisements for accuracy and input into HRMS in a timely manner.
- Process position/organizational management updates in HRMS to include: position establishments, reallocations, abolishments, and reporting changes.
- Ensure advisements accurately align with HRMS data definition rules, WACs, and CBAs.
- Ensure advisements include necessary and justifications and documentation prior to processing actions.
- Update and maintain agency organizational charts.
- Request personnel files for new and transferring employees.
- Create and send personnel file transmittals for separating employees.
- Conduct recruitment services for classified positions, draft job announcements, and screens applicants for required and desired qualifications in the Online Recruiting System (OLRS).
- Support and provide consultation to hiring managers on Equal Employment Opportunity standards and rules.
- Collect and maintain recruitment records for appropriate retention period.
- Conduct reference and background checks.
- Document and notify applicants of their final status in the hiring process.
- Assist TAT Team with The Learning Center (TLC) platform, including class/course maintenance and creation.
- Gather and provide training data and periodically presents reports on training to HR.
- Identifie and recommend training topics and resources.
- Assist with maintaining HR SharePoint site and content.
Qualifications
Who should apply?
Professionals with:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
AND
At least one (1) year ofoffice experience in a related setting performing a wide range of human resource administrative duties. Duties may vary, but must include entering data or using data from a Human Resource Informatino System (HRIS).
In addition to the above qualifications, the following desired knowledge, skills, and abilities would make your application more competitive:
- Additional education and/or certificates in administration, business, human resources, or related fields.
- Ability to use and extract reports from various HR databases and applicant tracking systems.
