This is a remote role that will be 18 months in duration.

Vendor Technical Program Manager, Web Team
Job Description
The Web Team is looking for a seasoned Program Manager (PM) who has experience in managing multiple stakeholders while also driving large feature implementation on the web across multiple quarters to end user go live. This Web PM will need to ensure predictability and quality across deliverables from various disciplines (engineering, design, QA, content, loc, etc). In addition, this PM will have partners and stakeholders across time zones throughout the US, India, and Sweden.
As a Project Manager on the Web team, the responsibilities include delivering on a products vision, collaborating on the roadmap planning and managing multiple projects through all life stages of project development ranging from early conception, pre-planning, planning, execution, stabilization, user acceptance, end user release, and continued maintenance. You will own and manage backlogs for the engineering team, lead them alongside a technical dev lead and Product Owner to drive clarity around timelines and user acceptance criteria, lead new feature demos, align stakeholders on features and statuses, execute on roadmaps based off business priorities, drive design mock up creation with ux designers/artists, champion quality deliveries across multiple quarters, and keep a pulse on potential risks and threats while providing plans to mitigate before issues become fires. It will be key that this person can both understand the products vision, and deliver on that vision across multiple quarters. Lastly you will find and leverage telemetry, and service data to identify highly complex patterns, generate hypotheses on user behavior, and build a plan to best deliver powerful and delightful features.
In this role, a seasoned PM will manage and support development on the website and work to improve the logged in experience. This PM would be expected to embrace the Web Teams long-term goal around how we want to work as a team, which is to deliver delightful, accessible, Minecrafty web experiences with modern web agility.
Candidate Responsibilities:
* Work at various stages of development to ensure milestones are delivered on time and to the highest possible quality amongst onshore and offshore teams.
* Create and maintain the project schedule; ensure teams are on track with their deliverables.
* Expertly communicate with engineers and business stakeholders on project requirements and deliverables, development velocity, and overall project status
* Clearly, and quickly identify potential threats, risks and other dependencies that occur throughout the development and implementation process and provide mitigation plans to correct course.
* Keep the team aware of milestones deliverables and goals through all phases of development.
* Manage the development processes as well as partner with Content, Localization, and QA teams to ensure content enters our AEM instance and publishes at quality.
Candidate Requirements:
* Excellent organizational and program management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing tasks/priorities.
* Experience with creation of delightful experiences and content curation using many different media types including video, social, animation etc for a website.
* Well-developed communication, storytelling and project management skills are required.
* 5-8 years of experience in managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects on the web demonstrating analytical problem solving
* Experience with SDLC methodologies such as: Waterfall, SCRUM, or other agile methodologies is preferred.
* Proven ability to plan, create and maintain a highly effective production schedule for multiple disciplines in all phases of development, from concept to completion.
* Demonstrated ability to drive and influence across teams towards adoption of engineering best practices.
* Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and end-to-end Web Development. Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, along with project management skills and seasoned and conflict resolution.
* Be results driven and possess a growth mindset with the ability to collaborate with others.
* Familiarity with Minecraft and Mojang experiences is not required, but is strongly preferred.
Typical Day in the Role
- Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to support engineering efforts on the website.
- Key projects: This role will contribute to the team by leading front end web application feature delivery to general audiences via the Profile experience. The Web Apps team focuses on creating new features and experiences on the web that enrich the authenticated experience for users. The Web Apps team is working on improving the signed in experience Minecraft.net, but also enhancing the current account system and allow users to better connect to theirsettings when outside of the game. At a high level, the team is creating new and improved features and responsible for maintaining quality in the Minecraft.net profile as we support bug fixes, new franchise beats, and empower the user through their account. This role is unique as it will act as both a Technical Program Manager and Product Owner alongside 1 other Product Owner to lead in E2E feature delivery in addition to quarterly planning, roadmap strategizing, risk assessment and stakeholder management.

Candidate Requirements- Years of Experience Required: 4-7 overall years of experience in the field.
- Degrees or certifications required: A degree is not required but highly preferred. Examples: Degree in computer science, engineering in general, software engineering, interactive entertainment, anything related to technology. (Note - prior experience is more important than the degree. The resource will be talking to the lead engineer and lead Product owner to understand what skills are necessary regarding planning, technical execution, program strategy, and prioritization.
- This role will be time-consuming so the candidate should not be working in another related job. If the candidate is working in another role that is not related to tech, then that is okay but looking for a candidate that is committed to this role. If the candidate is in the roles less than 5 months at a time and job hopping, that is a red flag. If the candidate has more than 1 grammar error that is also a red flag.
- Best vs. Average: Experience in developing front end features on the web. Experience leading an engineering team and also leading the vision for a web product. Experience with React and CSS is a plus. Has experience from start to finish / to user go live. Game studio or game experience. Waterfall, SCRUM, or other agile methodologies are preferred. Familiar and have done some research on Minecraft. The manager would like to hear that they are interested in learning about it or taking the initiative to learn it.
- Performance Indicators: Meeting deadlines. The resource will provide details of progress. The manager is looking for a resource that can both own a projects vison, and deliver on that vision with the engineering team in a timely manner. The resource should be able to tell not only the status of the project and launch experiences on time, but identify and communicate on risks, threats, dependencies, how a project can go wrong, provide some ideas on mitigation, collaborate on roadmap planning, and help drive business strategy
