The Opportunity:
As a Procurement and Supply Specialist for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing a procurement of services, supplies, materials, parts and equipment in accordance with state laws and university policies and procedures, and maintaining inventory and accountability functions of purchased items and services. You will serve as a primary point of contact for faculty and other university offices to process travel and purchasing for the department.
This position will require you to establish and maintain effective working relationships, adapt rapidly to changing market conditions and/or customer needs, and work effectively with automated procurement and supply management systems. As an active participant in user committees aiding in development of contract specifications or contract dispute resolution, you will also be responsible for preparing basic contract specifications, analyzing bids or proposals, and determining awards.
Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, procurement, logistics, supply management OR closely allied field; OR An Associate of Arts Degree in Purchasing Management, Business Administration OR closely allied field AND two years of full-time purchasing experience OR Two years of experience as a Procurement AND Supply Specialist 1 OR equivalent education/experience.
