Position Summary:
Directs, through subordinate supervisors, all shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities for all shifts. Works closely with the Outbound, Inbound, IC, Dry and Perishables teams to coordinate warehousing and distribution functions. Monitors labor, supplies, equipment, and production costs associated with warehouse functions and makes improvements in operation to maximize efficiency. Maintains a safe, clean, and efficient operation. Indirectly works with logistics, maintenance, and transportation to ensure on time efficient operations. Oversees all facility sanitation.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manages, through subordinate supervisors, all warehouse operations associated with the shipping, receiving, and inventory control functions. Develops staffing requirements, assigns resources as needed, and makes adjustments to staffing assignments to meet schedule. Meets production and service standards. Monitors thru-put manpower planning.
- Monitors daily operations, both in person and through regular reports, to identify areas for improvement. Reviews and identifies causes of production variances and takes immediate steps to resolve operating problems. Assists senior management in achieving established goals. Involved with employee training and development.
- Manages day-to-day operations and plays a key role in the development and implementation of system-wide process improvements and equipment enhancements.
- Works closely with supervisors to develop improved operations and implement any necessary changes. Establishes priorities and approves recommendations. Take every opportunity to establish and maintain teamwork between shipping, receiving, and inventory control teams.
- Coordinates warehouse activities with Logistics, Scheduling, Inventory/Replenishment, Receiving, and Maintenance teams. Works closely with these departments to make adjustments to scheduling and staffing to meet member requirements.
- Trains and develops warehouse teams to maximize productivity and effectiveness. Promotes teamwork, encourages communication, and resolve problems that arise.
- Responsible for Safety training and certification of all warehouse and clerical associates.
- Represents the Distribution Center to Distribution and Company management. Keep upper management informed of activities, progress and seek approval for proposed changes in operations.
- Assists management in improving operations. Works closely with the work teams to identify areas for improvement, develops improved processes, and makes recommendations to management.
- Represents the company in employee complaint resolutions.
- Performs other related and incidental work as required in the completion of assigned tasks including coverage for absent subordinates. May be called in at all times of the day depending on the situation.
- Accountable for P&L variance control for line items associated to operations.
- Problems solve quality errors (RODS/VCMs) on all shifts.
- Monitors positive progressive discipline of associates on both shifts.
- Approves terminations with GM of associates in operations.
- Maintains issue free workplace.
- Validates payroll (timecards).
Job Requirements:
Education: This position requires two to three years of college. In the absence of formal education, significant and directly related work experience may be substituted.
Experience: This position requires five to years of related management experience with a proven track record in distribution center operations. Position must also have four or more years of experience in shipping, receiving, Transportation and inventory functions in a conventional warehouse.
Knowledge: Position requires an in-depth knowledge of all warehouse equipment and processes, warehouse management systems, refrigerated and/or grocery warehouse operations would be beneficial. Position requires knowledge of personal computers and associated business software (MS-Word, Excel, and Access preferred).
Skills and Abilities: Position requires a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management and staff. Good team building and facilitation skills, demonstrated by the performance of assigned teams, are required.
