Schedule: Wednesday's, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Wage: $18.00 - $21.00 hourly
Position Summary:
The Parent and Child Bi-Lingual Group Facilitator position supports the overall mission and vision of Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington and the Pregnancy and Parenting program. Primary duties include facilitating weekly Spanish and English [SS1] [SS2] parent and child groups, using adapted curriculum for caregivers and children. Data collection, reporting, community marketing resource navigation and group activity planning are key functions of this position. In addition, facilitation of a weekly support group to young parents in support of addressing key obstacles reporting and planning. The purpose of Play & Learn is to provide support to family, friend and neighbor caregivers and parents in preparing young children in their care for success in school and life through quality early childhood experiences and by providing families with information, resources, support and connections to promote optimal development of the children in their care.
Responsibilities:
Data Collection
Track, maintain and organize the collection of attendance and additional relevant project reporting using excel program
Marketing
Deliver Family Friend & Neighbor opportunities for children and their care providers including but not limited to: Information supplied in the form of fliers, newsletters, project and program accessibility and marketing to agencies serving Spanish speaking families
Professional Development/Training
As relevant for parents, caregivers and early learning projects
Conduct and disseminate parent surveys in connection to project guidelines
Provide key learning opportunities for resource navigation in access to basic needs
General Staff Requirements
Facilitate 90 minute weekly group offerings, and attend and contribute to staff meetings, quarterly regional meetings, research and share information with others regarding community resources, services, and opportunities for children and families
Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with caregivers, young parents and community partners and colleagues
Utilize and support the continuity of care, sustainability and ensure quality of general operations
Support development of play groups by consistent communication and shared arts, craft, and theme ideas with other facilitators in program
Special projects
Participate in special projects as requested by program manager or regional director
Community Relations
Coordinate activities with internal team and external partners as needed to promote quality of care for children, families, and caregivers
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:
This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting, driving, or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements.
Non-Physical Requirements:
Education
High School Diploma, Required
Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience in early childhood education required or providing services, or education to families is required
Experience in working with vulnerable populations for a minimum is highly desirable
Special Skills
Strong interpersonal skills including proficiency in reading and writing in the Spanish language
Personal interest in working with marginalized populations
Strong background using excel and other Microsoft suite programs
Proficiency in writing, reading and speaking Spanish and English
Experience providing adult education
Adaptability to using multiple mediums of communications
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, as a team member, and a collaborative partner
Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner
Demonstrated commitment to cultural relevancy, diversity and inclusion
Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively
Knowledge of Central Washington region and resources
Ability to present information formally and informally in large and small groups
Bilingual (English/Spanish), Required
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Valid Washington State driver's license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities' liability insurance provider
Employment is conditional upon:
