Job Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will have a leading role in designing, developing, and maintaining our organization's data infrastructure and systems required for data storage, processing, and analysis. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining robust ETL, data pipelines, and systems integrations to ensure the seamless flow of data across the organization. You will be a data evangelist use your expertise to collaborate with others to build data literacy, enable data-driven decision-making and optimize data management processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Data Infrastructure Development
Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data marts, and data lakes to support analytical and business needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
Data Pipeline Engineering
Develop, implement, and maintain efficient data pipelines for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Ensure data flows are automated, reliable, timely, and scalable, supporting various data needs across the organization.
Data Architecture
Work collaboratively and independently to design and implement database objects, including tables, views, and schemas, to support the analytical needs of the business. Transforms raw data into a usable format by applying data cleansing, aggregation, filtering, and enrichment techniques
Data Quality and Governance
Develop and implement strategies and tactics to enhance and validate data quality, integrity, and consistency across multiple data sources and systems. Assist business units in understanding data governance and make recommendations to improve organization-wide data management.
Documentation and Procedures
Create and manage documentation and appropriate procedures necessary to enforce standards, communicate best practices, define roles and responsibilities, and sustain ongoing operations. Define and promote effective documentation best practices internally and externally.
Security / Compliance
Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. Maintain a working knowledge of security threats, laws, and policy for data privacy and protection; take steps to protect organizational data from accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure; assist with security and access management.
Technical Support and Guidance
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, analysts, and stakeholders on data-related matters, tools, and technologies. Help train new or junior engineers and analysts. Troubleshoot issues related to data and data systems. Monitor data systems.
Continuous Improvement
Stay current with related regulations, best practices, tools, and new technologies; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal and professional networks; participate in professional organizations. Use new knowledge and ideas to continuously improve operational efficiencies, procedures, and strategy.

Education/Skills/Training:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in computer science, data science, software engineering, information systems, related quantitative field, or equivalent experience and/or training. A minimum of five years of experience in database development, maintenance and application interface or equivalent demonstrated performance and expertise.
Experience in fintech or a financial institution is a significant advantage.
Expert knowledge in data management principles, data governance practices, and data modeling concepts.
Significant experience with SQL and SQL based languages (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL) and coding languages (e.g., R, Python, Java, C/C++).
Significant experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), big data cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Datawarehouse) and object-oriented platforms (e.g., NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB).
Expert in data integration, ETL tools, and integration platforms (e.g., AWS DMS, SSIS, MuleSoft, Talend, or similar technologies).
Excellent problem-solving skills, including debugging skills, allowing the determination of sources of issues in unfamiliar code or systems, and the ability to recognize and solve repetitive problems
Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms is a plus.
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
