Job Summary:
The College of Professional Programs at Eastern Washington University is currently seeking a skilled and team-oriented applicant for the following position: Program Support Supervisor 1 for the School of Psychology.
This position will include coordinating the operations of the School of Psychology, including graduate and undergraduate programs. Perform work using knowledge and experience specific to the programs and the School. In consultation with the Chair, Associate Chair, and Program Directors, devise and implement new procedures and exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying program and School policies, guidelines, and procedures. Project, monitor, maintain, initiate, and/or approve expenditures on program budgets. Independently advise students, staff, and the public regarding the school, its programs, and the University, act as liaison to local organizations.
Under general direction, provide programmatic support to the Chair, Associate Chair, and Program Directors in the School of Psychology; coordinate special projects; conduct trainings; coordinate advising and recruiting activities; and provide technical, administrative, and student services support, as well as administrative support to the School of Psychology, as needed.
Supervise the School Secretary, School Program Coordinator, and non-student hourly and student support staff in the performance of duties associated with the programs. With delegated authority, interview and recommend the selection of applicants, hire new employees, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary action.
In the course of performing the position's duties, this position will have extensive involvement with students, staff, and the public in carrying out program activities, and will coordinate, schedule and monitor program activities to determine consistency with program goals. The position reports directly to the Chair of the School of Psychology.
The salary for this position is $42,288 (minimum) up to $48,648 (maximum). Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (any field).
• Additional years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-to-year basis.
• Two years’ experience in the program specialty, which is defined as providing complex program support services involving students beyond entry level support work.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal access, of our students, faculty, staff, and the public.
POSITION SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered qualified for this position, you must meet the minimum qualifications defined above, AND you must meet ALL of the qualifications listed below:
• Strong computer skills demonstrated by two years successful full-time work experience using a variety of software programs and working in website development and maintenance.
• Demonstrated skills in flexibility, collaboration, teamwork, communication, time management, and attention to details.
• Two years of experience managing multiple and complex budgets.
• Two years of experience maintaining both manual and electronic records and files involving systems which include at least 500 records and/or files.
• Two years of full-time work experience demonstrating success in handling a high volume of customer contact and providing customer service.
• To be considered qualifying, the experience must include communications with a wide variety of “customers,” such as other agencies, practicum and internship placements, professionals in the community, internal staff/managers/administrators, students, applicants, and faculty.
• Communications must include both verbal/telephonic, email, and written correspondence; “high volume” means receipt of an average of 200 customer contacts on a daily basis to include email, telephone calls, visitors, etc.
• Two years of full-time work experience with demonstrated success in handling a demanding workload with overlapping deadlines, which required great attention to detail, strong communication skills, perseverance, initiative, and the ability to function equally well, taking direction and working independently in an environment characterized by interruptions throughout the workday.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two or more years work experience in a higher education environment involving student support services and performing duties beyond entry level work.
• Familiarity with EWU systems and processes.
• At least one year of experience using Canvas, EagleNet, Navigate, Banner, and other university administrative systems or equivalent.
• Experience with data monitoring and analysis.
• Knowledge of practices in education.
• Substantial knowledge of regulations, rules, policies and procedures, processes, materials and/or equipment related to the administration of an academic programs and state policies related to higher education.
• Work experience demonstrating the coordination of academic program policies and procedures for students, staff, and faculty.

• Program and School operations and support.
• Assists in the administration of student programs, practicum, internships, and seminars.
• Supports Chair, Associate Chair, and Program Directors in their work related to program development and implementation.
• Assists in writing, completion and presentation of reports, special projects and assignments, and program updates.
• Assists with student admission process, collaborates with Graduate Studies, Student Services, Career Services, and other Campus and Community partners.
• Manages and schedules the Chair, Associate Chair, and Directors’ appointment calendar, determines itineraries, provides weekly calendar briefings, organizes and prioritizes incoming email, and acts as confidential liaison.
• Provides staff support for meetings, including tracking and monitoring committee projects and materials.
• Distribution, preparation, and dissemination of confidential documents.
• Coordinates operations related to student practicum, internship, portfolio development, and seminars.
• Monitors budgets in line with program activities, plans and priorities; maintain program school and program budgets and initiate corrective action, sign vouchers, receive, process, and monitor funds deposit; assist in preparation of grants and proposals.
• Coordinate and process travel for the Chair, Program Directors, faculty, and students as needed.

• Maintain, monitor, and evaluate School and Foundation accounts and budgets/fiscal records under direction of Supervisor; identify problems and initiate corrective action after review with Supervisor; process requisitions, invoices, memorandums of agreement, and payroll paperwork (timesheets and PAFs).
• Provide routine support to staff relating to use of hardware and software, networking, setting up computer accounts; refer technology issues/problems to the Office of Information Technology.
• Assist students and faculty with current University technology and software.
• Provide administrative support to Chair, Associate Chair, Program Directors, and School of Psychology.
• Design office procedures, policies and forms including interpretation and application of administrative policies for the efficient functioning of the School.
• Coordinate administrative standards and procedures for independent, yet interrelated, School functions such as research, curriculum and instruction.
• Perform office support functions: purchase supplies; screen, prioritize and distribute incoming mail; answer, screen, and direct telephone calls; compose and edit correspondence including confidential and sensitive information; coordinate document preparation for travel, purchasing, student employment, and event coordination.
