Position Summary:
The VP of Business Development is responsible for identifying, enabling, maintaining, and growing strategic relationships to market, sell and distribute MedInsight products. For an assigned product portfolio, the VP of Business Development will strategize go-to-market business planning, develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer prospecting, directly sell and negotiate agreements, and be responsible for customer retention and expansion of MedInsight's indirect customer base. This role requires a solid grasp of healthcare data, specifically those associated with payers, providers and life sciences industries.
This role is a critical part of MedInsight's growth strategy. The VP of Business Development will collaborate closely with sales and product leadership to achieve go-to-market and revenue growth objectives. This high visibility role requires you to leverage your creativity, strategic thinking, and drive to promote our industry-leading portfolio of healthcare analytics and data solutions. Within assigned product portfolio:
Develop and sell Strategic Partner Business Identifies and nurtures strategic relationships with partners or potential customers. Assists in the development of a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting. Researches and analyzes current and future business opportunities. Directly sells business, negotiates agreements, and closes deals. Ensures MedInsight internal teams are poised to execute on partnership.
Manage current and future Strategic Partner relationships. Establishes trusted relationships with key leaders at partner organizations and build a deep understanding of business opportunities to drive mutually beneficial outcomes. Assesses the health of existing partner relationships and develops fresh plans to enable these partnerships to reach fuller potential. Manages renewal and expansion negotiations with partners and continuously ensure MedInsight internal teams are poised to execute partnership goals. Develops data-driven approaches to assess partner performance including the development and oversight of partner KPI dashboards for executive team visibility.
Partner on Go-to-Market delivery. Works with product leaders to define product business plan, value proposition, market messaging, pricing models and sales enablement strategy. Defines the most effective sales channels rooted in deep understanding of the market and clients. As assigned, leads cross-functional teams on go-to-market execution. Develops data-driven approaches to assess go-to-market success and report for executive team visibility.
Function as a brand ambassador. Working with the Senior Director of Marketing, promotes MedInsight's brand and value proposition to a larger healthcare audience. Champions and protects MedInsight brand values externally. Builds messaging and value propositions to support partner sales, account management and brand advancement and awareness.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree
Master's degree or MBA not required but preferred
8+ years of experience within the health IT, analytics, or business intelligence
5+ years of experience in one of business development, partnership/channel management, corporate development, product strategy
Proficiency for developing solutions to complex healthcare problems in the context of expanded MedInsight portfolio market penetration
Exceptional communication, written, and presentation abilities
Proficiency with sales/marketing enablement technologies
Experience working with senior leadership teams
Preference for candidates that have been in the digital healthcare and analytics space, insurance analytics or venture capital space
Travel Responsibilities:
Determined by the role, but may involve 6-10 trips per year
*Due to COVID-19 precautions, MedInsight team members are on a reduced travel protocol
Compensation and Location:
The salary range is $120,000 to $243,000, depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. This role can be located remotely within the U.S.
