Project Overview:
Join a pioneering team at the forefront of global engineering and construction, known for monumental projects such as Hoover Dam, the English Channel Tunnel, and significant solar and infrastructure ventures worldwide. The current focus is on the Hanford Vit Plant, or the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant, where we are tasked with transforming hazardous waste from historical military activities into safe, disposable material. This project is critical for protecting natural resources and communities in the Northwest.
Position Description:
The Senior Procurement Engineer will be an integral part of the Engineering team, focusing on the WTP Engineering CGD process. Applicants should possess robust experience in engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality assurance related to nuclear CGD processes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies.
- Conduct failure mode analyses on safety-related items and equipment.
- Develop commercial grade dedication strategies.
- Interface directly with the WTP supply chain.
- Review and implement manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, and heat treating.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and industry standards (NQA-1, DOE 414.1D, ISO-9000, ASME, ANSI, AWS).
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, develop survey and verification criteria, and manage supplier relationships.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering or a related Science discipline plus 9 years of CGD experience, or a total of 12+ years in the nuclear field.
- In-depth knowledge of CGD processes in facilities regulated by NRC or DOE.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Must be able to obtain DOE site access.
- Experience in manufacturing and quality assurance.
- Previous experience on Bechtel projects or with DOD/DOE projects is preferable.
- Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and quality programs.
