Job DescriptionA growing client seeks a well-rounded Controller at its Redmond location.
Core responsibilities include:
Prepare financial reports, analysis and management of the monthly close process.
Manage the day-to-day accounting operations of A/R, A/P, Payroll, and revenue
reporting to ensure continuing quality of services. Motivate and develop the accounting
team. Research and resolve accounting issues.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and complete monthly and annual
client reporting.
Maintain relationships with Bank, Health Insurance, Property and Casualty Insurance,
and Tax Advisors.
Develop and document key accounting policies and ensure compliance with the key
controls over financial reporting. Work with operations to ensure compliance with other
operational controls.
Assist senior leadership in developing the annual operating and financial budgets,
perform regular analysis, update projections monthly, and provide other ad hoc
analysis.
Work closely with the support teams to ensure compliance with Company standards.
Oversee the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements on behalf
of the Company.
Review Balance Sheet reconciliations in a timely manner; identify needed actions to
ensure accuracy.
Utilize analytical tools and information systems to identify negative expense trends and
recommend corrective action.
Establish effective working relationships with internal project managers and external
clients/consultants.
Safeguard the Companies’ assets by maintaining and improving the company’s internal
control environment.
Pro-active management of working capital/cash flow requirements, including reporting
Produce the flash report document monthly to provide visibility into the current month’s
results.
Maintain corporate personnel files.
Supervise administrative and accounting personnel.
Assess, revise and implement efficient processes to maximize departmental efficiency.
Establish a strong internal communication process for the Accounting department to
ensure a two-way information flow with Operations and other support teams.
Act as business partner to operational units through the provision of financial support,
information requests and participation in team meetings.
Assist President in making decisions in broad-based matters.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related degree, CPA certification a plus.
5+ years experience in cost accounting.
5-10 years of progressive experience in managing accounting operations/staff, the
monthly close process, budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, contract
management, internal controls, audit, or related experience.
Proficiency in Excel and strong analytical and organizational skills essential.
Comfortable with technology and has direct experience in system enhancement and
training.
Previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced, highly client-focused environment.
