The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Senior Program Director to join our childcare team!

As the Senior Program Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of YMCA Child Care sites. If hired, you will work closely with the Executive Director to develop relationships with community leaders, assess child care needs, and to ensure overall program growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction and vision for the operation of all child care programs.
- Maintain compliance with DEL standards.
- Guide and ensure enrollment goals are met and maintained.
- Assist in the development of consistent standards and measures – the internal audit – for Child Care.
- Develop and support child care team in readiness for awareness tours and affiliated marketing events. Meet identified goals for these areas.
- Ensure effective systems are in place to measure the quality of programs and services and to receive and respond to parents’ concerns and comments, in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Develop centralized communication tool for families.
- Assure compliance with state and local regulations.
- Ensure that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
- Establish, maintain, and nurture key community partnerships: School district and state licensers.
- Continue to assess/nurture opportunities in school districts, negotiate more space as necessary.
- Develop opportunities to create connection with YMCA Branches- establish and strengthen relationships with facility branch program directors and senior level staff.
- Work with the executive director to develop relationships with community leaders, assess child care needs in the district.
- Assist in the development of an annual budget that reflects program goals and needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or equivalent degree, knowledge and experience.
- Five years’ experience in the development, delivery and management of child care programs or equivalent, with full understanding of child care regulations and licensing requirements.
- Knowledge of and experience in directing programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fund-raising.
- Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
- Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day.
- Complete other online and in-person training as required.
Compensation: $67,724.80 to $69,724.80 per year, depending on qualifications
