Milliman's Seattle Health Practice is looking for a part-time Associate Actuary / New Analyst Continuing Education Coordinator. This position is a key role in supporting day-to-day activities and collaborating with internal teams surrounding the Continuing Education program for the Seattle Health practice. The position requires experience in health actuarial work, creative actuarial capabilities, good communication and interpersonal skills, and organizational talents. A high degree of self-motivation and a combination of technical and interpersonal skills are necessary for success.
The New Analyst Continuing Education Coordinator will work on a part-time unscheduled hourly basis, with hours anticipated to range between 5 and 15 for a given week, depending on seasonality and needs. The job duties may differ for given months, depending on specific projects and needs. This position is remote eligible with occasional travel to Seattle.

Milliman's Seattle Health Practice serves a wide variety of organizations, including insurance companies, health plans, state and federal agencies, healthcare providers, reinsurance companies, providers, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and employers. The staff consists of 150+ actuarial professionals in addition to healthcare consultants, IT, Administrative, and other non-actuarial staff.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead and develop education and eLearning programs for new actuarial analysts and data analysts.
Identify performance and development needs and recommend training solutions, as well onboard and train new analysts.
Design effective learning solutions which are learner-centered, organized, accurate, relevant and engaging.
Working with SME's, leverage a variety of learning development tools to develop and deliver training that utilizes a blended learning approach including instructor led, Web-based and e-learning.
Maintain, update, improve and deliver existing content as needed in a fast paced and changing environment.
Manage and monitor trainers to ensure trainee satisfaction and knowledge.
Set up and facilitate training sessions for new analysts.
Provide feedback to managers regarding new analyst performance.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications:
Professional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field
ASA designation
Five or more years of healthcare actuarial experience
Four or more years of educational experience (college-level or high-school level teaching preferred)
Willingness and aptitude for detail work
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Proficiency with Excel, e.g. using formulas in complex spreadsheets without sacrificing accuracy; and willingness to develop these skills further
Proficient in SAS, SQL, or R
Excellent communication skills, written and oral
Demonstrable skills in presenting technical concepts to a non-technical audience in an understandable way

Location
This is a remote position. Employees may work onsite in the Seattle, WA office if they prefer.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this role is $50.00 to $75.00, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
Benefits
Employees scheduled to work greater than 1,000 hours per year are eligible for a 401(k) plan with matching program, and profit sharing contribution.

Paid Time Off (PTO) starts accruing on the first day of work and can be used for any reason; full-time employees will accrue 15 days of PTO per year, and employees working less than a full-time schedule will accrue PTO at a prorated amount based on hours worked.
