Job Description
This is an H-2A job order for planting, cultivating, and harvesting apples and cherries.
* Plant, cultivate and harvest apples and cherries.
* Planting: Plant seedlings or liners by hand or with mechanical planter
* Tree training: Tie/position trees and limbs together and to trellises using string, tape, wire, or other fasteners and supports
* Thinning: Hand thin to control the size and quality of fruit
* Pruning: Pruning numerous varieties of apple and cherry trees using shears, hand loopers, hand saws and up to 12-foot ladders
* Harvesting Apples: Spot and/or strip pick fruit based on seasonal need
* Harvesting Cherries: Hand pick fruit leaving stems attached
Job Requirements
- 3 months of previous work experience in a tree fruit orchard
- Drug screen
- Lifting requirement of 60 lbs.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Extensive pushing or pulling
- Extensive sitting or walking
- Frequent stooping or bending over
- Repetitive movements

Frequency of Pay: Weekly
$19.25 per hour guaranteed
The prevailing practice for harvest work is to compensate workers on a piece rate basis. However, no worker will be paid less than $17.97 per hour averaged over the pay period. Minimum piece rates are as follows:

HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday 8:00 am- 3:30 pm – 7 hours
Saturday - 5 hours (required)
