We are seeking Maintenance Technician 1 at our Tumwater facility to help with maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Preference will be given to candidates with prior maintenance, construction, plumbing, and electrical experience.

Description: This position requires an understanding of plant protocol and safety techniques. The Maintenance Technician 1 assists Maintenance Supervisor in the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of the facility and production manufacturing equipment. The Maintenance Technician 1 will also be able to perform Production Technician 1 tasks and duties as required.
Responsibilities:
• Follow protocols for Inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
• Complete work orders repairing faulty production and facility equipment and damaged structures.
• Implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
• Monitor heating and plumbing (HVAC) systems to guarantee functionality.
• Assist in planning and scheduling repairs.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems as assigned to ensure everything is up to standard, regulations, and code.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
• Provide feedback for the development and implementation of the maintenance department annual budget.
• Assist in maintaining the inventory and records for equipment and supplies.
• Procure supplies required for work orders and projects as assigned.
• Be able to work effectively with team members to achieve individual and team projects to specifications and within deadlines.
• Perform Production Technician 1 tasks and duties as required.
• Wear all safety gear when required.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Intermediate understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Effective problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be well-organized and able to follow prioritized tasks.
• Able to perform light plumbing, electrical, construction, and engine/motor repairs.
• Able to pay strict attention to detail and strictly follow instruction.
• Able to routinely lift heavy objects (50 – 60 lbs.).
• Able to distinguish color and odor.
• Able to work in a noisy environment with large temperature variations.
• Able to stand and/or move freely throughout the day.
• Able to wear a respirator on an infrequent basis.
• Possess a valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings as required.
• Able to drive and be certified as a forklift driver.
