Summary
The Technical Program Manager (PDE) is responsible for driving the definition, implementation, and delivery of complex hardware modules. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and management of interdependent projects to ensure successful execution from concept through mass production.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, architecture, industrial design, operations, and other cross-functional teams to drive development of next-generation products.
- Define and manage development, delivery, and qualification strategies and schedules based on system requirements, technical challenges, lead times, and business needs.
- Manage communication across internal engineering teams and external vendors.
- Establish milestones, track program progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks or setbacks.
- Drive engineering teams toward timely resolution of technical issues.
- Develop and implement best practices and scalable processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Oversee engineering builds from early prototyping through qualification and validation stages.
- Ensure all program documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to stakeholders and leadership.
- Support resource planning and budget management to ensure program success.
- Travel up to 20% (domestic and international) as required for program needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with phase-gate methodologies in technology development projects.
- Strong understanding of component and module qualification, validation, and characterization processes.
- Experience with issue tracking, bug tracking, and risk management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Proven experience building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with vendors, including flexibility for different time zones and on-site support when required.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Program Manager managing PDE programs from concept to mass production, preferably in consumer electronics.
