Position Overview
As the Interim Controller, you’ll play a critical leadership role, overseeing the accounting team and ensuring financial accuracy during month-end close and project revenue recognition. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with professional services experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full-cycle month-end close process, with a focus on timely and accurate expense and revenue recognition.
- Ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies across a portfolio of active, multi-phase projects.
- Provide strategic direction and daily oversight to a team of accounting professionals including AP, payroll, and billing.
- Collaborate closely with the CFO and Financial Analyst on internal reporting, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Maintain and refine accounting workflows and internal controls for maximum efficiency and compliance.
- Conduct quality control reviews of payroll and expense transactions.
- Act as a key point of contact across departments, offering financial insights and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience leading accounting teams within a professional services environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in high-volume, deadline-driven settings.
- High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Collaborative and approachable leadership style with excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, x-lookup, pivot tables, index match).
