Live-In Nanny sought by The Merrills in Seattle, WA, to care for two children, and three adolescents. Work hours are between 35 and 40 per week, with occasional work during weekends, overnight, and holidays. Work schedule varies per day based on the mother's work schedule.
Duties include: Assisting with the morning, afternoon and evening routines, including helping with breakfast and dinner, getting ready for school, driving the children to and from school and extracurricular activities, and preparing snacks and lunchboxes. Tending to the general and basic needs of the children while providing supervision to ensure the children's safety in day-today activities. Engaging the children in age-appropriate activities—including free play, arts and crafts, games, and reading. In case of illness or injury, providing the necessary medical attention, for example, closely monitoring the children's symptoms and health concerns, taking their temperature, and administering medications as directed. Collaborating closely with the children's parents, healthcare providers, and school personnel to ensure a safe and supportive environment. Instructing the children on proper health and personal care habits. Assigning chores as appropriate to teach the children responsibility, self-control, and self-confidence. Creating a safe environment for the children by removing hazards and enforcing appropriate boundaries. Performing housekeeping tasks related to the children’s care, such as cooking, doing laundry, folding clothes, and doing the dishes. Cleaning up (vacuum/sweep/wipe down) areas the children utilize. Organizing the children’s closet, drawers, and toys.
Requires a High School Diploma, or GED, or foreign equivalent. Must be willing to live on-site with the family. Relocation to a different MSA within the U.S. for personal reasons may be required.
