$34.10 per hour plus Health & Welfare, with the potential for deployment to South Korea for 9 months with State Department uplifts added

Purpose of Position:
Unique opportunity as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic supporting the Stryker Medium Caliber Weapons System (MCWS) program. In addition to base wages, this position contains Health and Welfare benefits which may be paid as cash if the employee has their own insurance.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential):
- Maintain Stryker ICVVA1-30MM unique items from initial receipt at JBLM, through the operational test of 11 vehicles at JBLM and YTC, and support of all additional vehicles received at JBLM for the first fielding.
- Perform de-processing inspection, and any repairs
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
- Order parts related to the MCWS system
- Provide technical advice and assistance to vehicle users
- Support troubleshooting vehicle maintenance issues
- Complete reports timely and correctly
Qualifications:
- Experience as a 91 and 15 series Abrams/Bradley/Paladin/Apache Fire Control and Armament Maintainers. Abrams K8 and Bradley J3 Master Gunners for MCWS Turret Maintainers.
- Minimum of 5 years’ mechanical experience with heavy wheeled vehicles
- High School Diploma, or GED
- Must be able to obtain a positive adjudication of a NAC-I background check
- The ability to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with customers and co-workers
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Initial Training will be conducted in Oshkosh WI
- Travel may be required to Yakima WA, or Ft Irwin, CA, with the potential for long-term travel
- Subject to ITAR regulations and access
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal educations/ certificates in vehicle service repair
- 10 years military experience in vehicle maintenance
Physical and Other Factors
- This position requires the ability to perform vehicle maintenance at any position, in, on, under, the vehicle.
- Work environment is Maintenance Shop, but includes office area, as well as certain field test site locations
- Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to complete computer generated reports and status documents
- Occasionally lifts/moves up to 50 pounds
