The Camas Police Department is seeking to fill a full-time Police Records Clerk/Dispatcher vacancy at the I or II level, depending on the qualifications of the selected applicant. The position will work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. This position is represented by the CPEA bargaining unit and eligible for a full benefits package. This position is covered under Civil Service rules, including the hiring and selection process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEVEL I:
- Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
- One year of clerical or administrative support experience is desirable
- Technology skills including intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word)
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks for security clearance including polygraph examination
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEVEL II:
- Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by training in applicable computer software, administrative skills or other specialized area of assignment
- Two years of clerical or administrative support experience related to law enforcement or government records
- Technology skills including intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word)
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks for security clearance including polygraph examination
IMPORTANT TESTING INFORMATION
- A written test will take place on Saturday, June 15.
- Applicants MUST be able to attend the test if invited to do so after applications are screened for qualifications.
- There is a required $20 testing materials fee which will be collected the day of the test.
- Details regarding the testing process will be sent on Wednesday, June 12, to those applicants selected to advance.
- Follow-up interviews/practical exam will take place June 20-21 at the Camas Police Department.
- Final candidates must be able to pass an extensive background check and polygraph.
