The Role: SW Drafting Technician
SUMMARY
Performs drawing and administrative functions for West Coast marina/dock construction projects by preparing clear, complete and accurate plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches/notes, contract changes and/or bid specifications, by performing the following duties. Successful candidates will be required to complete an administrative background screen and pre-employment drug test per our Drug Free Workplace Policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Creates and reviews sales and proposal drawings in accordance with company standards, working closely with marketing personnel and customers.
· Acts as liaison with outside engineers who provide structural, electrical and mechanical designs for projects, ensuring that BMI's drawings reflect the engineer's design intentions.
· Creates construction and fabrication drawings in accordance with company standards and design engineer's directions and specifications.
· Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
· Makes any adjustments or changes necessary or desired.
· Prepares flotation calculations for each float module in a dock system.
· Creates foam fabrication details using the flotation calculations to ensure that each float module will attain the designed freeboard.
· Compiles and maintains both paper and data files on all projects for a historical record of all drawings completed.
· Other office, plant, and construction duties as required.
Compensation:
